Apple has never been short of available apps for all of its devices. The Apple Watch makes no difference in that regard. And since the Apple smartwatches are getting better and smarter with every model, it’s a shame not to benefit from them at full capacity.

Here are some of the must-have free and paid apps for your Apple watch:

Things 3. It’s a productivity app, the perfect organizer for your life. All your ‘to do’ activities are grouped into Anytime, Upcoming and Today. Things 3 is a paid app and you can download it from the App Store for $10

Strava. One of the most popular workout app can be downloaded for free and used with your Apple Watch. It is very precise when it comes to measuring distances, time or your heart rate. It is perfect for all active users out there, be it for running, cycling, or simply walking. And the most beautiful part about it (aside for the fact that it is free) is that it is a standalone app, so you can use it without your phone. Another good standalone option is Runkeeper, which can also work on older models of Apple watches

Carrot weather. It is a more accurate weather app than the Apple one, it can also be downloaded for free and it also has a premium, paid version which comes with useful features such as alerts and notifications. The Carrot app has a very clean and smart interface and a very funny AI that sarcastically announces you and mocks you when the weather is bad. Carrot also has a paid workout app, the Carrot Fit, which uses the same funny AI to put you to work by doing celebrity face punches and more

Citymapper. As useful on your watch as it is on your iPhone, Citymapper helps you get to your favorite places, find out upcoming trains and more. You can download the app for free

Find Near Me. Another useful app that helps you identify any close by stores, restaurants, ATMs, or other type of needed amenities. You simply search something and you get all the available results, with their names and distances. The app is free

iTranslate. This app is pretty self-explanatory. It quickly translates what you say or type, and it can even do an audio translation for you, to help you with pronunciation. You can download the app for free or opt for the Pro version, which allows you to use the app offline

Streaks. One of the most popular wellbeing/health app you can find. It lets you define and track several habits at once and improve your lifestyle. The habits can be anything relatable, be it negative or positive. Unfortunately, Streaks doesn’t have a free version, but it’s not an expensive app and it’s worth every penny. You can download it for $5

Pennies. It is your own reliable financial planner, helping you create budgets and input all your expenses and earnings. It is a paid app and you can download it for $4.
