The Bonsaii T866 is a 4-slice toaster with a nice stainless steel housing and simple controls. It won’t sweep you off your feet but it will perform well for the money. It toasts evenly and fast, it is easy to use and to clean. It does leave room for improvement when it comes to those details that make the difference, but at this price, it is definitely a bargain.
The Bonsaii T866 is a 4-slice toaster manufactured by Bonsen Electronic Ltd. Bonsen is a Chinese company which was founded in 2005 and it is mainly renowned for its shredders, but they manufacture other products as well. Their T866 toaster has managed to become quite a popular product, thanks to its affordable price and overall quality of the appliance.

The Bonsaii T866 is a relatively large toaster with extra-wide slots that can accommodate various items: from different types of bread to bagels and English muffins. In spite of its dimensions though, it is lightweight. The toaster has a stainless steel housing, a cord that can be stored under the toaster, for safety and design purposes, as well and two removable crumb trays (each for every section), which are very easy to clean.
The Bonsaii 4-slice toaster is as simple as it gets: both sections have a high-lift lever, a rotating knob with 6 browning settings and three additional buttons for each section: Cancel, Bagel and Defrost. There is no Reheat option. Also, we did notice that the so-called high-lift levers aren’t as helpful as they should, because the bread doesn’t really pop-up high enough for you to not risk burning your fingers. So don’t be surprised if you find yourself fishing for your slices with the help of a fork, because we did. Also, the ‘new smell’ of the toaster might be a bit strong during the first week of use, but it eventually fades away and it is not so unbearable to become a deal breaker.
The toaster browns your items evenly and fast and the 6 shade settings are really useful. The fact that each section has its own settings is also a plus, because it allows you to toast two different batches at the same time, according to your preferences.
As a drawback, the housing of the Bonsaii toaster gets really hot when in use, especially if you toast for a longer period of time. Also it takes a long time to cool, so you might want to be careful around it.
The Bagel and Defrost functions work flawlessly and the removable crumb trays are easy to slide out and clean.
Overall, the Bonsaii T866 4-slice is a good value for the money: while it does skimp a bit on some details, it managed to perform well in our tests. The Bonsaii toasts evenly, fast and lets you obtain various shades of brown. The most annoying things are the not so ‘high-lift levers’ and the fact that the housing gets hot above average and takes a long time to cool. But given the price and the features of the Bonsaii, you will get your money’s worth with this kitchen appliance.
