PROS:
CONS:
Tipard DVD Cloner is a great value for money product. You can create identical duplicates of your desired DVDs and also easily make fully customized copies. Unfortunately, if you try copying your DVD to a smaller capacity blank disc, the compression will render the new video unwatchable. Although some quality loss is expected during this process, this level of degradation is the highest in our review.
Tipard DVD Cloner finds its place in the center part of our overview of the best DVD copy software on the market. It generates identical copies of your favorite DVDs and possesses some extra tools that are quite helpful for archiving your DVD collection digitally. But, unfortunately, it has some major quality problems that keep it from being an even better product.
Features
One of the most important qualities of Tipard DVD Cloner is that it’s exceptionally easy to use. All of the features are either located on, or accessible from the primary display screen. When a DVD is loaded, the application walks you through the copy procedure. It will take this computer software between 25 and 45 mins to perform a complete copy.
Tipard DVD Cloner has three copy modes: Full Copy, Main Movie and Custom. The Full Copy module duplicates all the features of a DVD and burns it onto a new empty disc. Main Movie strips away everything except the film itself. The Custom mode allows you to select which content you want to duplicate. These tools are good for getting the copy you need with little to no hassle.
This software is also useful in archiving your DVD library since it provides you with the option to save a disc's ISO file to your desktop. An image file, or an ISO is basically the blueprint or the exact copy of your physical disc. You can even make use of this file burner to burn fresh content onto a DVD without the original disc. If you have a large DVD collection that you would like to back up, it is an extremely helpful feature.
Making an exact duplicate of one's DVD is only feasible if you use the Full Copy function and use an empty double layered disc. Nevertheless, if you utilize a smaller-capacity DVD-5, the application compresses the items to the disk. This compression causes enormous reductions in image quality. Although most DVD copiers register some kind of quality loss in this area, Tipard showed particularly disappointing results. When we evaluated a compressed copy of our own test disc, we observed near-constant distortion, pixelation and compression artifact. These flaws make the new discs unwatchable.
Please note that the DMCA, which is the Digital Millennium Copyright Act is against copying any specific encryption that is on commercial discs. There are no exceptions to this, and at ReviewFyer we do not encourage, endorse, or support any illegal activity at all. This software is meant to be used as intended within the constraints of the law.
Although it is easy to use and it copies files at an average speed, Tipard DVD Cloner drastically reduces the video quality of the file you wish to copy through compression. Although the damage to quality is high during this process, you can use larger discs to completely avoid it.
