SUMMARY:

Oral Pro 2000 is a very good choice for an affordable electric brush. With its 2 cleaning modes of Daily Clean and Sensitive that can be partnered with Oral B’s abundant brush heads, users can have a lot of variations when brushing their teeth. It also comes with good features such as a pressure sensor, a quadpacer, and more. We liked the overall product, but the truth is for the price there are better options.

COMPLETE REVIEW

Electric toothbrushes are excellent choices for dental hygiene. They are mechanically operated which allows it to create thousands of strokes per minute. In comparison, traditional toothbrushes greatly vary in their cleaning performance mainly because of user limitations. With electric toothbrushes, cleaning performance is generally consistent for all users regardless of their mobility, their cleaning styles, and their pressure they exert. Because of this, these products are very popular for many users who want to get everyday convenience and a lot of different cleaning styles and features for the best results.

Oral B

Oral B is a popular dental hygiene company that has been around since the 1950s. They are known for products such as toothpastes, toothbrushes, and flosses. They are owned by Procter & Gamble. They have also created a wide range of electric toothbrushes that each has their own specialties, price ranges, and features included. Examples of these are the Genius and IO series. Among these, the Professional line is the budget choice. These are capable of good cleaning performance for a very affordable price.  The Oral B Pro 2000 is one of its most popular brushes.

Oral B Pro 2000

Oral B Pro 2000 is the next in line after one of the most affordable brushes, the Pro 1000. This comes with a lot more features, a better product design, more cleaning modes, and more. This is generally advised for those who are comfortable with using electric toothbrushes and who have a little more budget for more features but still want a very affordable product. As with all Oral B brushes, this comes with a round brush head that is the trademark of Oral B which enables it to cover most of the surface of the teeth and reach through its edges.

Pricing

The Oral B 2000 can be purchased directly off Amazon, which is where we found the best price.

Performance

Design

The product mainly has a clinical look to it. It is thinner than the Oral B 1000 which makes it easier to grip while brushing the teeth. The product has helpful ridges in its plastic body that makes it hard for the product to slip from your hand. Compared to the Pro 1000, it seems to have a more durable design that can last a couple of accidental drops. Inserting and replacing the brush heads is easy with the product because of its intuitive design. It also does not easily slip out while brushing the teeth.

Cleaning performance

One of the best reasons for upgrading to this from the Pro 1000 is the addition of another cleaning mode which is the Sensitive mode. This ensures that those with sensitive teeth and gums will be given just the right amount of pressure and cleaning. Aside from this is the Daily Cleaning mode that is capable of breaking down plaques and buildup in the teeth with its use of the perfect amount of force for the teeth. Compared to the Pro 1000, we definitely felt that this model has a more powerful motor.

The round brush head of the product allows users to get a variety of cleaning stroke techniques from the brush. It uses a mixture of oscillation and rotation to provide more pressure for removing the plaque in the teeth. This is also gentle enough as to not damage the enamel of the teeth. In fact, it even has a pressure sensor feature that automatically lights up in case you are applying too much pressure on the brush. With this, users can just apply the right amount of force on the brush when cleaning every day.

As with most Oral B electric toothbrushes, you can pair most of their available brush heads to get a variety of cleaning techniques. Even with just 2 cleaning modes, you can put a Teeth Whitening, 3D cleaning, and more types of brush heads on the unit for you to have more variety when cleaning the teeth every day.

Battery life

Another great upgrade with this product compared to the Pro 1000 is its better battery life. The mentioned product can only last up to a week while the Pro 2000 can last for more than 2 weeks. Users can also simply leave the product on the charging stand for it to be conveniently charged every morning. With this battery life, the product can be reliable enough to be brought for short trips far away from home. The product does not come with a travel case, though, which is why users need to be extra careful about its fragile parts.

Features

One of the most important features of the product is the quadpacer. This advises the user to change the quadrant of the teeth they are cleaning by temporarily slowing down its motor. This will be done every 30 minutes to allow a full 2-minute clean of the teeth as advised by dentists. This allows the user to give equal cleaning to all the parts of the teeth. This also helps those who are still not familiar with electric toothbrushes and children to learn how to use the product. This is not intrusive in any way and works seamlessly.

Cons

The product is a very good product. It generally does not have any issues with its features, with its only downsides just being the lack of some key ones. For example, it does not have a travel case which makes it hard to carry around. Its battery life would also be better if lengthened.

Conclusion

In the end, the product offers a lot for a few additional dollars compared to the Pro 1000. It comes with extra features, cleaning performance, and design that makes it a good choice for an affordable brush.
