PROS:
CONS:
Kashoo is a simple and user-friendly web-based accounting solution, with a clean interface, mobile support and a decent price. It does lack some advanced features and the app is not yet compatible with Android devices, but for smaller businesses, Kashoo is definitely a good way to go.
Kashoo was released in 2008 as cloud-based accounting software for small businesses. It has several applications and useful tools and a simple pricing scheme.
There are two pricing options to choose from: Annual and Pay As You Go.
The Annual option (you’ll find the pricing below, in our Price section) allows you to do several things: track your expenses and income, accept payments, track sales and sales tax, track items and unlimited projects, capture and organize receipts, add multiple users, and more. It also includes reporting and check printing.
The Pay As You Go option includes the same features, the only difference is that you pay as you go and the monthly rate is higher than with the Annual option.
Both the Annual as Pay As You Go option come with a 14-day free trial and with money back guarantee, in case you are not satisfied with the software.
Kashoo boasts on the fact that they offer for free some features other providers charge extra for, such as item tracking, additional users, multi-currency, project tracking and others. While that is true, Kashoo is still pretty basic and lacks some more complex tools found in major competitors.
Interface. Setup and ease of use
The interface of Kashoo is clean and user-friendly. As we’ve already mentioned it, Kashoo is web-based, which means you don’t need any special hardware or to download and install anything. What you can do though is download their available app. Unfortunately though, so far Kashoo’s app is only available for iOS devices (iOS 9.3 and above). One useful thing about the iPad app is that in case your Internet drops, it still works offline by saving data and will sync up once you are back online. Kashoo is also compatible with any browser.
Setting everything up is a matter of minutes. All you have to do is type in your business info, accounts, opening balances and so on. You should also enable multi-currency. It is as easy as that and then you’re all good to go.
Once everything is set up, you’ll be directed to your income and expenses. You’ve got your Actions, Lists and Reports on the right side and each of them has its subcategories: Actions (Income and Expenses, Bills, Checks, etc.), Lists (Clients, Items, Suppliers and more) and Reports (Income statement, Unpaid invoices and Unpaid bills, Balance sheet and others).
You don’t have your standard dashboard which might seem confusing for some at first, but the interface is really easy to learn and navigate. Everything is well organized, accessible and secure. Kashoo uses bank-level encryption and PIN/Touch ID for its mobile app.
And in case you are worried about your data being lost, Kashoo also offers automatic backups.
Features
There are several useful things you can use Kashoo for. Here are some of its most important features:
Although you’ve got all your basic features and the interface is really user-friendly, Kashoo is still better suited for small businesses, as it may lack specific tools, such as time tracking, estimates.
Also, integrations are also somewhat limited. You do have some of the common ones though, such as FreshBooks, Stripe, Square, Bluepay, MailChimp, PayPal, Authorize.net. But if you were hoping for a more extensive list, you might want to consider other options.
Overall, Kashoo is a good solution for the money and it is definitely worthy of your consideration if you own a small business. It is easy to use and has all the basic tools. Kashoo also offers great customer support, via phone, e-mail and live chat. Their reps are really responsive, involved and helpful. If, however, you are looking for a more comprehensive service, there are other providers out there who offer more advanced features.
Kashoo has 2 pricing plans: Annual and Pay As You Go. The annual plan is $16.65/month (annual billing at $199.95/year). The Pay As You Go option will cost you $29.95/month.
