CONS:
G Data Internet Security suite has many great features. Together with a highly efficient antivirus program, this security package ensures complete protection. G Data got great results on the usability and protection tests, although it did cause significant lag to the PC it was tested on.
G Data Internet Security suite was included in our top 10 pick because of the results it showed in independent testing by AV-Test lab. G Data also brings many great features together with an excellent antivirus program.
Features
G Data offers an unusual amount of advanced features in its basic suite. As the first line of protection, it has its own firewall there to fill any gaps Windows Defender might have left. For a more secure way of making internet transactions, G Data makes sure you’re safe from any possible threats. It scans Your Email (You can email us at [email protected])s for any hidden files that may be harmful to your PC. During the scan, it employs an intuitive new anti-spam tool that protects you from unwanted ads or phishing emails. The number of phishing threats is rapidly growing because it presents an easy way for hackers to steal your sensitive information without penetrating your PCs firewall. Phishing emails usually consist of alluring offers that are made so you would enter your personal information that would later be stolen. The security suit also includes a parental control tool that allows you to have more control over what sites your kids visit online. You can also limit their time when using certain apps.
More advanced features were saved exclusively for the G Data Total Internet Security suite. This premium package of products contains all the tools included in the basic suite and then some more. In addition to the foundation antivirus software, the G Data Total Internet Security has a password manager and a file shredder feature. These are very important premium tools since the password manager secures the online entry of any sensitive info such as your passwords or banking data, and the file shredder effectively eliminates any unwanted classified data you wouldn’t like to resurface again.

As we mentioned before, G Data was a part of a great software evaluation effort performed by the AV-Test lab in 2016. With an overall result satisfying the industry requirements, G Data was included among the 22 best internet security software suites.
G Data showed satisfying results in protection and usability. Although it had some trouble recognizing newer threats, the security software got a 100 percent score on the test made to check its ability to detect already known internet threats.
The third test was for performance and it traditionally shows how heavy the security software is on your PCs resources. G Data recorded a score of 4.5 out of 6 in this area of the evaluation. It slowed down its host computer significantly while testers were browsing the internet, installing applications and running different programs. However, this result shouldn’t impact users who don’t play games or run demanding applications often.
