Even though it might not look like a big software package, Panda Internet Security suite contains all the essential features any top tier internet security suite should have. Aside from its excellent antivirus, it offers an additional firewall, a browser for surfing the internet safely, parental controls, email protection and a home network manager. On the AV-Test trials, Panda got a perfect score in the area of protection and an industry average score in usability. Despite these great results, Panda slowed down the host PC causing a detectable lag.

Panda Internet Security has many great features like an option of a free online backup in case you want to make a copy of your files and upload them to a cloud. Unlike many other internet security suites, Panda offers this feature at no extra charge. Another security feature for added online protection is a virtual keyboard that protects your online passwords and sensitive data from being stolen by keyloggers. Panda also has a tool for removing possibly malicious files from USB drives you insert into your PC. The WiFi protection features searches for vulnerable places in your home network and alerts you if it finds any weak links.
The suite also comes with its own – Panda Safe Browser. An innovative feature, Panda’s browser is a virtual software that doesn’t run on your PC. Since it’s not physically installed on your system, it also doesn’t save any data like the browsing history, so it provides a higher level of privacy, should you have need for it. Having a browser with a higher security level can be a great thing, especially when you’re making online transactions or entering personal information.
Panda Internet Security has a more advanced parental control panel than many others its category. With Panda, you can create several different “users” and assign them with different privileges. You can prevent your kids from accessing certain parts of the internet or block their use of specific desktop apps. The feature also allows you to track each user’s individual online activity, so you can have a better picture of what you’re kids are viewing online.

The well respected software testing facility, AV-Test, conducted an evaluation of internet security suites on Windows 10 computers during the spring of 2016. With above average results, Panda Internet Security found its place among the 22 best internet security suites on the market. The software was tested for protection, usability and performance.
Panda was tested against more than 22,000 different malicious files and it failed to make a single mistake, earning it a perfect score in protection. It achieved this incredible result despite the fact that many of the threats were new and not yet logged as malicious in the online virus database. Panda got a slightly lower mark in the usability test by correctly identifying only 92 percent of the programs it was tested for.
Unfortunately, Panda didn’t do so well on the performance test. Since the tests were conducted on PCs running Windows 10, the security suite slowed down its host computer significantly more than the industry standard allows. This means that while scanning you PC, Panda uses too much of your computer’s valuable resources thus slowing it down in general.
