COMPLETE REVIEW

iLife robot vacuum cleaners are manufactured in China, but the company has coverage in over 35 countries worldwide.

There are two series of iLife robot vacuums: the A series and the V series. We are going to focus on the A4S model.

The iLife A4s is a budget-friendly robot vacuum, which in many ways resembles the Eufy RoboVac 11, although the latter is a bit better overall.

Here are the main specs for the A4S:

  • Dimensions: 12.2 x 12.2 x 3 inches
  • Net weight: 4.9 pounds
  • runtime on a single charge: around 120 minutes
  • Self-charging feature
  • Cyclone power cleaning system
  • Anti-fall and anti-collision
  • Scheduling
  • HEPA filter
  • suction power: 1,000 Pa
  • Dust box capacity: 0.45L

The design of the iLife A4S is pretty standard. It has a titanium gray color, it is circular, with a bumper on front with infrared sensors. It has only one power button on top and the brushes and drop sensors are underneath. Its small size means it can fit under pretty much all types of furniture. It may not be able to get past every obstacle or raised floors, but overall, it does a good enough job.

The A4s is also versatile and can cope with various types of surfaces, from hardwood floors to rugs and so on. The fact that it can perform equally good on various surfaces is definitely a plus.

The A4S comes with a remote control, which is the only tool that lets you control the device. Just like the Eufy RoboVac 11, the A4s doesn’t have a dedicated app either. The remote allows you to schedule cleanings, stir the vacuum, choose a cleaning mode. You can choose between auto cleaning, scheduled cleaning, edge, spot and mini-room cleaning.

There are 3 cleaning stages involved: sweep, roll and suck. In terms of cleaning, you will also be pleased by the way the A4S performs on edges and corners. Because it has no smart sensors, the A4S will bump into things occasionally and will wander blindly and confused, but somehow it manages to do a satisfying job when it comes to cleaning your house.

Just like other budget-friendly robot vacuums, such as the aforementioned Eufy RoboVac, the iLife A4S lacks some of the smart features found in more premium vacuums: an app, mapping abilities of your home, the ability to turn on the robot remotely via WiFi.

The suction power of the iLife robot is good but not great: 1,000 Pa. It can pick up all the usual type of debris, but it is definitely not the most powerful robot vacuum you can find. It is also efficient at picking up pet hair, so that’s more good news.

Its battery life is good, too, you can even squeeze up to 120-140 minutes on a single charge. The A4S knows to return to its charging dock, although it does fail from time to time, if there are obstacles in its way.

Overall, we consider the iLife A4S a decent robot vacuum cleaner, given its price tag. It is small and relatively quiet and it performs well in terms of cleaning. However, it lacks a lot of smart features that some might consider important in a robot vacuum. It is a good option for the money, but don’t expect premium quality.

Pricing

You can get the iLife A4S for approximately $170. In the box you get the robot and the usual accessories: the charging dock, the remote control with batteries, and spare parts.
