The Bio Ionic 10x Ultra Speed is a professional dryer. It is impressively light (weighs under a pound), in spite of it being pretty big and has a longer barrel than most dryers. It comes with a travel bag and a concentrator nozzle. It has a 9 feet long cord. Both sides have removable filters that allow you easy access to clean them anytime you feel necessary.
The 10x Ultra Speed has the famous patented brushless EcoDrive motor. Bio Ionic states this motor lasts 10 times more than those in regular hair dryers and guarantees up to 20,000 hours of use. To stand behind this bold statement, the company includes a 10 year motor life warranty. Not only that, but the EcoDrive technology is environmentally friendly, uses 75% less energy than conventional dryers and replaces the unhealthy carbon-brush components with magnets, which are less harmful to your health. The fact that it is brushless also makes it a quiet hair dryer.
Another unique feature of the Ultra Speed is the fact that the barrel is infused with volcanic rock minerals which induce negative ions while drying your hair. The result is a more hydrated and smooth hair. They also help in drying your hair faster.
The Bio Ionic 10x Ultra Speed doesn’t have too many buttons. In fact there are only two: one with an Off position and three speed/heat settings: low, medium, high and another button for the cool air option. There are no separate buttons for the heat settings, they are combined with the speed settings.
The Bio Ionic 10x is very fast and dries up your hair in under 10 minutes, depending on the length and type of hair. People with short hair won’t need more than 5 minutes. Although the dryer gets hot immediately, it cools just as fast after you turn it off.
Aside from its really steep price and the fact that it doesn’t have separate heat settings, we couldn’t really find anything wrong with the Bio Ionic 10x Ultra Speed. It is a great dryer especially for people with long hair, because it significantly cuts your drying time, it is eco-friendly, energy efficient and best of all, it has a really long lasting motor. There’s a really good chance this would be the last hair dryer you’d have to purchase during your lifetime.
