The GHD Air is not a cheap hair dryer, neither literally, nor figuratively. It comes in a beautiful, premium box that is a clear indication right from the start that you’re getting a high-quality product. The dryer comes in matte black, which gives it a plus of elegance. There is a good looking metallic filter too, with the GHD logo, which is another fancy touch that adds to the beautiful design of this dryer. The filter is removable so you can clean it when necessary. The matte black is a bit high maintenance though, as any trace of make up or what have you, will be visible on it, so expect to clean it quite often.
In terms of weight, the GHD Air weighs around 3.4 pounds and it feels a bit heavy in your hand, especially if you use it for an extended period of time. Luckily though, that won’t be necessary, as one of the dryer’s strengths is the ability to dry your hair twice as fast than other dryers in its range.
The cable is long enough (3m), so that you won’t have to stay in uncomfortable positions just to be close to the outlet.
The GHD Air has 2 central buttons, one for the heat settings and one for the speed settings. There are 3 heat settings: cold, medium heat and hot. There are also 2 speed settings. In addition to those 2 buttons, you’ve also got a cool shot button. The highest heat setting will feel extremely hot, so you’d be advised not to use it that much, if you know what’s good for your hair. The body of the GHD on the other hand stays cool even after a longer period of time, which is a good thing.
In spite of its 2,100 watts, the GHD is not a loud hair dryer.
The package also includes a concentrator nozzle and you can also add a diffuser, but you have to buy it separately.
The ionic technology in the GHD is another plus of the dryer, as it helps you have a smooth and static-free hair.
