PROS:
CONS:
Even though it is the more affordable model out of the two Breville Quick Touch microwaves, the BMO734XL is an expensive kitchen appliance. What do you get for the $250? An attractive, powerful, smart and complex microwave with myriad of functions and the ability to quickly access auto-modes at a simple touch. The Quick Touch can heat, reheat, defrost and cook your food, and it does it evenly and conveniently.
Breville is a home appliance company from Australia. It was founded in 1932 in Sydney and today it delivers products to over 70 countries worldwide. They manufacture and sell a wide variety of kitchen appliances, from microwaves and grills to coffee makers, toasters and smoking guns.
Breville has 2 microwave models: the Quick Touch and the Quick Touch Crisp. The Quick Touch Crisp is the most expensive out of the two, uses inverter technology and also has a grill feature.
However, in this review we are going to focus on the Quick Touch model, which is a bit more affordable and doesn’t use inverter technology.
Here are the main specifications of the Quick Touch:
The One Touch is quite expensive for a microwave. Having established that, it is a good looking kitchen appliance. It has a polished stainless steel interior, a brushed stainless steel finish, a very useful door handle, an illuminated LCD display, smart sensors and a lot of buttons. The overall design is really attractive and stylish.
With a 1.2 cu ft. capacity (34 liters), the One Touch microwave is mid-sized and can fit almost any type of food you can think of.
On the inside door you have a panel with shortcut buttons, which are accessible with just one touch. They give you quick access to specific settings and functions: reheat beverage, melt chocolate, soften butter and more. The auto-cook modes have their own preset time and power level depending on the type of food, so you don’t have to waste time to find the perfect setting. You can also save a personal favorite setting, but unfortunately you are limited to just 1. The microwave offers a good visibility inside, you can see your food as it is cooking.
The fact that it gives you quick access makes it efficient and easy to use.
You’ve got 10 power levels, smart sensors and you can adjust the time and power level even during the cycle, meaning while the microwave is working. There is also a button that acts as a child lock and lets you add a bit more time to your cooking cycle without changing other settings or starting another cycle altogether.
You’ve got the options to smart cook, reheat or defrost. There is no grill feature though. The Quick Touch cooks and heats your food evenly.
In spite of all the numerous buttons on the Quick Touch, this microwave is straightforward and easy to use. It is a bit expensive and it only comes with a one-year warranty, but it is a complex and efficient kitchen appliance and it will look good in any kitchen.
You can buy the Breville One Touch BMO734XL for $250. The product comes with 1 year replacement warranty.
