PROS:
CONS:
As its name suggests it, the Breville BTA720XL toaster stands out through its special ‘A Bit More’ function which allows you to crisp your bread for an extra half a minute, regardless of the setting that you are using. The Bit More 2-slice model has a high-end design, very simple controls and a durable construction. It comes at a decent price and it toasts your items evenly every time.
Breville is a home appliances company from Australia. The company was founded in 1932 in Sydney and it is one of the most reputable brands in the country as well as abroad.
The Bit More BTA720XL is a pop-up toaster with a capacity of two slices.
Specifications:
The Bit More 2-slice is a simple but elegant toaster. It doesn’t have too many options and buttons, but you can find almost all the features you need. It has a stylish, premium design, a stainless steel body and an extra-lift lever on the side. A useful thing about this lever is that it is a ‘Lift & Look’ lever which allows you to raise the bread carriage and check the progress of the toasting without interrupting the cycle. If you think your slice needs to be toasted a bit more, you simply lower back the bread carriage and let it brown some more. The high lift lever makes sure you can grab the bread easily without burning your fingers.
The Bit More 2-slice is relatively small, although that also affects its capacity which is obviously smaller (only 2 slices) but it fits in smaller spaces and it looks beautiful on your kitchen counter, thanks to its stainless steel exterior.
An extra feature of the Bit More toaster is the famous ‘A Bit More’ button (hence the name of the toaster) which allows you to toast the bread an additional 30 seconds to make sure you get the desired shade of brown.
The Breville BTA720XL has 5 settings and 4 buttons above them: A Bit More, Bagel, Frozen and Cancel. What is missing is a Reheat option, which a lot of other toasters include. The toaster indicates the progress through a red LED bar positioned just below the four buttons.
The Cancel button also adjusts the level of the alert sound for when your toast is ready. You can choose between high alert, low or mute it completely.
The bagel and frozen features worked flawlessly during all our tests and the overall performance of this toaster was impressive. The BTA720XL toasts your slices evenly every time and the A Bit More function makes sure that your bread will get the desired shade of brown if the 5 settings are not enough for you.
The Breville toaster is a bit slower than other competitors but the results were always satisfying in our case. Another drawback is the fact that it can get a bit hot when in use so you should be careful when you manipulate it.
And now back on the pros of this toaster, the BTA720XL is easy to clean and comes with a removable crumb tray. All you have to do is slide it out and empty the crumbs. Fast, easy and no mess what so ever.
If you don’t need an extra-large pop-up toaster with a 4-slice configuration and if the Reheat function is not a must for you, the Breville BTA720XL is an inspired choice. It looks great, it is solid, it doesn’t take up too much space and it has a relatively affordable price.
The Bit More BTA720XL is an affordable toaster, considering its quality. You can purchase it directly from the official website or on Amazon, for $79.95. The product comes with a one-year limited warranty.
