The Smeg 2 slice is an Italian made toaster with a very attractive vintage design. It is simple but has all the basic functions, it is fast and toasts your bread evenly. Its drawbacks are the fact that it gets very hot when in use and it is quite an expensive appliance.
The Smeg 2-slice is an Italian-made toaster manufactured by the company with the same name. Smeg was founded in 1948 and is renowned for its domestic appliances.

The Smeg 2 slice toaster comes in various colors: black, chrome, pastel blue, pastel green, pink and red. There is also a 4-slot model in you need a toaster with a larger capacity.
It is a small toaster and it has a vintage 50’s design, simple but stylish. The base and top are made of plastic while the body is stainless steel. It is a cool looking toaster and it is small enough to fit almost anywhere, even in smaller kitchens.
The two slots have a width of 36 mm. The crumb tray is made of polished steel and it is removable. However, you have to remove it from the back, not the front, as it is usually the case with other toasters, so that can be inconvenient, depending on where you place the toaster.
The lever of the toaster is solid and automatically pops up at the end of the toasting cycle.
The Smeg toaster has automatic centering racks and anti-slip feet.
The browning level is controlled by a dial with 6 available settings and it is also the one that lets you access the Reheat function. There is also a Cancel option, which you can access from the same dial, by pressing the Stop button on it.
On the right and left side of the dial you have the Defrost and Bagel features.
The Smeg 2 slice does an impressive job, performance wise. It is fast and energy efficient, even on the highest settings. You don’t get the darkest possible shade of brown with it, but it gets your bread brown and crispy enough. And the best part is that it toasts it evenly.
The only drawback is the fact that it gets really hot when in use so you have to be careful around it, especially if you have children who wander around and touch everything in their path.
In conclusion, the Smeg 2 slice is a durable, solid toaster that looks extremely good in any kitchen and comes in several vivid, beautiful colors. It does a great job but it is also expensive, which might be a deal breaker for some.
The Smeg 2 slice toaster is not the most affordable one you can find. On Amazon you can purchase it for $149.95.
